First Friday Artwalk - Sarah Stanifer/Jim Richerson — Sept 1st, 6-9PM
We welcome Sarah Stanifer's, "Sculpting Self-Love: Clay Bodies Abstracted" to our Original Gallery and Jim Richerson brings his installation,"ARTEOLOGY: A Walk Through the Pandemic," to our Big BLO Gallery.
Richerson's Instillation was born from daily walks he took around Pueblo during the Pandemic to sooth anxieties. "ARTEOLOGY: A Walk Through the Pandemic," combines personal experience, found objects, and the symbolism of ice to create a profound representation of the pandemic's impact. With this installation, Richerson pulls from his extensive art background to create a work that facilitates healing and connection through collective experience.
An artist’s talk will occur on Saturday, September 2nd at 4 PM followed by a specially arranged interaction between Richerson’s installation and jazz and improv musicians Butch Eversole and Tom Taylor. We are excited to showcase these works the entire month of September.
Closing Reception: Friday, September 22nd. 6PM.
