Are you ready for a big week at BBG? Here is a run-down of live music happenings this week:

There's a lot happening this week, so let's jump right in to live music here at Blo Back Gallery!
—it's going to be an eclectic ride! We're kicking things off on Thursday with DFL. This legendary band has rocked since the early '90s, and if you're a fan of the Beastie Boys, you'll be excited to know that DFL has featured two notable members: AD-Rock and Mike D. (1991) Get ready for an unforgettable experience!
Founded in 1991, DFL exploded onto the scene with an electrifying lineup: Tom "Crazy Tom" Davis, Monty "Monte" Messex, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, and Tony Converse—with a special early appearance by Michael "Mike D" Diamond on drums!
Their debut release, My Crazy Life, was recorded on April 22, 1993, at the legendary Beastie Boys' G-Son Studios in Atwater Village. Produced by the iconic Mario Caldato Jr. (Mario C) and released on Grand Royal Records on both 7" vinyl and CD, the record burst onto the scene with visuals by none other than Spike Jonze—talk about an explosive start!
Between 1993 and 1994, the band's rhythm section went through some dynamic changes. Tony Converse briefly stepped away, making room for the powerhouse Amery "AWOL" Smith (from Suicidal Tendencies and the Beastie Boys) on drums, before Tony made his triumphant return in 1994. Meanwhile, the bass position saw talent like Chris "Wag" Wagner of Mary's Danish, Eugene Gore (the violinist featured on the Beastie Boys' Ill Communication), and even Brian Baker from Minor Threat and Bad Religion, all leaving their mark. In 1994, Tom Barta joined on bass and carried the flame until the band’s final curtain in 1997.
That was just a snippet of DFL! But wait there's more.... DFL of course are bringing some friends a long! With special guests from Los Angeles, CA THE PAWNS. “The PAWNS are a skate punk band from Los Angeles CA that was formed in 2014. They combine punk and thrashy head banging riffs with lyrics that reflect the dire state of America as well as the underground party anthems of skateboarding.”
